How much is an initial consultation?
An initial consultation is for new patients and costs only $120.
How much is a follow up consultation?
A follow up consultation is for existing patients and costs only $60.
How long does the consultation go for?
- An initial consultation goes for 90 minutes.
- Follow up consultations go for 45 minutes.
How do I pay?
You will be prompted to make a credit card payment when you book online. Any additional payments for natural medicines will be invoiced with bank details for electronic funds transfer.
How do I book an appointment?
Select the “make an appointment” button on the top right hand side of the website and follow the prompts to select the service type, time and day that suits you best.
What is your availability?
We are available Tuesday’s through to Saturday’s inclusive from 10am to 8pm by appointment.
Do I need to send you test results from my doctor?
While it is not essential to provide test results from you doctor, it is helpful to send us copies of any recent tests or specialist reports that you have. You can ask your doctor to fax them to us directly, or you can email them to us yourself if available.
Do you have same day appointments available?
We often do have same day appointments available however if you would like to arrange an appointment for the same day we request that you please send us a message or email with your name, phone number, preferred time and email address so that we can email you a new patient form to complete prior to your appointment. Once you complete and return the new patient form by email we will confirm your booking time. Please note if you arrange an appointment for the same day we will request a credit card payment during the initial consultation.
Are you available in clinic for face to face appointments?
We do offer face to face appointments in the Sydney CBD and Glen Innes, however at this time due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we are only available via our secure virtual clinic room (video conference/telehealth). We are unable to provide you with details for reopening in clinic at this time.
How do I enter the secure virtual clinic room?
To enter the virtual clinic room at your appointment time simply select the “secure virutal clinic room” button on the top right hand side of the website. There is no need to download any software, it is very easy to use and completely encrypted so we can feel secure. You just need to ensure you have a good internet connection for the consultation.
How much experience do you have?
Jean has completed a 4 year bachelor of health and science degree in naturopathy and has been in private clinical practice for almost 6 years, including 1 ½ yrs of practice under supervision of qualified naturopathic practitioners. Jean also maintains high standards of continued professional education with the bulk of her practice working with patients on autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s thyroiditis).
What is different about your practice compared to other naturopaths?
We focus on evidence based natural medicines and have an integrative approach working alongside conventional treatments. We acknowledge that conventional medicine when integrated with holistic and evidence based natural medicines offers a superior patient experience. We embrace collaboration with your medical care team and provide all patients with written health summaries for your GP so all practitioners are in the loop and working together to optimise your wellbeing outcomes.
Can I purchase natural medicines online without a consultation?
We offer a wide range of wellness brands and allow purchase of with a consultation. High quality and high strength practitioner only brands require a consultation for a prescription to ensure your safety. We offer an online dispensary for your convenience.
Do you offer any testing?
We offer a range of testing referrals. Please note that as we do not diagnose diseases if any tests reveal abnormal results we will refer you to your GP for a diagnosis and to integrate your care. These tests incur additional fees that are not covered under medicare.
What if I am taking medication?
Many of our patients are on various medications and we do not recommend that you change or discontinue any medications without first consulting your GP. We will work alongside your treatment and ensure that any natural medicines we prescribe will not interact or interfere with your medication.
How long will it take to get results?
We do not guarantee results or claim that we can provide a cure for any disease but rather work to correct underlying drivers of imbalance in the body. Results are variable and very much depend on the individual and complexity of your health case. Results tend to be slower with holistic health as we aim to correct underlying causes of illness which often involves diet and lifestyle change over a period of time. We tend to avoid suppressing symptoms to ensure we address the foundational changes that led to the imbalance in the first place. Some people experience results quite quickly while others take longer.
Can I claim a rebate with my private health fund?
Unfortunately naturopathy is not currently claimable at this time. This is under review and may change.
Do you offer payment plans?
If you are experiencing hardship we are happy to provide a payment plan option. We can arrange a plan that is manageable for you to enable you to access our care. This is arranged on a case by case basis so please send us a message letting us know what would be manageable for you and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Why does it cost more to see a naturopath than my GP?
Unfortunately naturopathy is not covered under medicare at this time. Our fee extends beyond the consultation time we spend with you to include relevant researching of the scientific literature, writing referral letters, general administration and ongoing clinic fees such as insurance, professional association membership and continuing professional educations fees and so on. In addition the time spent on consulting is considerably longer than a typical consultation with your GP. The service is quite different and not suitable for comparison.
Do you treat COVID-19?
We do not treat COVID-19. There is currently no evidence to support the use of any natural medicine in the treatment of COVID-19. We do offer holistic immune system support via diet and lifestyle advice and natural medicines on an individual basis. We recommend that you consult with your GP if you suspect that you may be carrying the COVID-19 virus.
